Google introduces online coding course related to Python and Automation

  • Google launched “Google IT Automation with Python Professional Certificate” to provide knowledge sharing in Python and automation

US based technology giant Google introduces online coding course “Google IT Automation with Python Professional Certificate” for employees and trainees who want to improve their skills in Python topped up with automation. These are two skills from among the latest set of skill sets which are in high demand now-a-days. Automation is the key to productive delivery now. It helps to save time and improve the output. On the other side, Python is a programming language which is quickly picking up the pace and web-development space in today’s time. This new certification will make people job ready in Python, Git and IT automation in under six months.

“Python is now the most in-demand programming language, and more than 530,000 U.S. jobs, including 75,000 entry-level jobs require Python proficiency. With this new certificate, you can learn Python, Git and IT automation within six months,” Natalie Van Kleef Conley Product Lead, Grow with Google, said in a statement on Thursday.Apart from this course, learners will have to work on a project to solve the problems which they might encounter on their job. This might include creating a web service using automation.

“To ensure learners from undeserved backgrounds have access to both IT Professional Certificates, Google.org will fund 2,500 need-based scholarships through nonprofits like Goodwill, Merit America, Per Scholas and Upwardly Global. Along with top employers like Walmart, Hulu and Sprint, Google considers program completers when hiring for IT roles,” Conley added.

This new initiative is also a part of providing training to around 250,000 Americans which was announced by Google CEO Sundar Pichai and White House advisor Ivanka Trump during October 2019. Pichai also mentioned that they will bring this program of certifying IT professionals to more than 100 US community colleges by 2020.
